Description
You are invited to a 1h30 continuing professional development (CPD) session on movement patterns and mental health.
What is the language of movement in mental health and wellness? Movement tells a story. Every gesture, posture, and shift in energy can offer insight into a client’s internal world. In this CPD session, we’ll explore how to observe, partner with clients on, and integrate, movement-based insights in your therapeutic approach.
Key learning objectives:
- How movement patterns reflect emotional and psychological states.
- Reducing somatic resistance, and working with somatic contractions.
- The role of somatic holding, witnessing, and expressing in therapeutic work.
- Practical approaches for integrating movement awareness into your client intakes and case development.
- Ethical and trauma-sensitive considerations in movement-based observations.
