About this workshop:

You may understand trauma cognitively, but what happens when your client’s nervous system doesn’t shift?

This is because insight doesn’t always lead to change. Knowledge is unfortunately limited in its transformative abilities. Many clients experience repetitive patterns of hyper or hypo vigilance (experienced as activation or shutdown respectively) regardless of how much we may engage them in talk therapy and similar modalities. And so as practitioners – we can feel very stuck in how to move forward. How do we safely bring in the body? Trauma-sensitive yoga can and does bridge this gap.

This is a 2 hour experiential workshop for psychologists, counselors, coaches and yoga practitioners who want to understand how to work safely and effectively with the body in trauma recovery – without needing to be a yoga teacher. This workshop will weave together compassionate personal experience, theory grounded in academic research and practical application from my many years of professional experience with hundreds of trauma survivors – all within a supportive community of like-minded professionals. You will walk away with:

  • Felt experience of a trauma-sensitive yoga practice – no previous experience or additional equipment needed (this will be a gentle seated practice that you can do at your desk / laptop).
  • Clear understanding of the neurobiological foundations and theory underpinning trauma-sensitive yoga.
  • Practical ways to begin integrating the body-based work of trauma-sensitive yoga into your professional or personal practice.

If you’ve been sensing that working with the body is important – but aren’t sure how to begin – this workshop will give you a grounded, practical starting point.Beginners are welcome! NB: all my email subscribers receive 5% off their first order, claim yours here: https://candiceclark.co.za/shop/
