Welcome to Redeeming Hope, friend!
This is a free 4 week, online bible study for trauma survivors. It is based on my 28 day devotional, Redeeming Hope. When trauma, chaos and confusion hit our lives we can spend quite a while wondering where God is. Is He here? Does He hear me? Does He care? The nature of trauma is that it catapults us so far out of our normal day to day lives, that we can feel unbelievably disoriented and out of touch with everything we once cared about, including our God.
I have been here, friend. More than once. Trying to make sense of events I don’t understand, and wondering why God would let the devastation I’ve witnessed happen to me. But here’s the thing – God never promised us a life of comfort. In fact, if we really search the scriptures we’ll come to see that many, many believers experienced immense heartache and were asked by God to display lion-size strength and bravery.
I have been here, friend. More than once. Trying to make sense of events I don’t understand, and wondering why God would let the devastation I’ve witnessed happen to me. But here’s the thing – God never promised us a life of comfort. In fact, if we really search the scriptures we’ll come to see that many, many believers experienced immense heartache and were asked by God to display lion-size strength and bravery.
We are not called to seek comfort, we are called to seek holiness. But that doesn’t mean we can’t recover and we can’t live a life of immense joy and hope, this side of heaven. God is not a God of bad endings and ashes.
In a trauma recovery journey, we can find ourselves wanting our old life back. Trauma creates a line in the sand: the life that existed before the trauma and the life that we are now struggling to accept after the trauma. But what if I told you that joy, presence, and meaning is possible, in this very chapter that feels set to destroy you? What if I told you that you might be in the fire right now, but that that is not where God is going to leave you? What if I told you that your future is brighter than you could ever imagine?

In this free, online, 28 day bible study, we are going to explore the core themes of trauma recovery, and God’s voice for us in trauma recovery. We are going to root deeply into His word and His plan for our healing, restoration and future. We are going to connect inwards with ourselves, outwards with other trauma-survivors on this journey and most importantly – we are going to connect with our Father whose heart cares deeply for us.
This bible study is guided foremost by scripture, and then by my contribution as a licensed counsellor that specialises in trauma. I have worked with many individuals and on group programs, supporting the recovery from traumatic experiences. Beyond all my qualifications, professional titles and experience, I have come to know a God that redeems. And I can’t wait to share this knowledge and deep, personal experience with you.

You are welcome to partake in as many or as little of the activities provided. This is your safe space to connect with God, and begin healing.
