Move from theory to confident, client-centered practice
Many counselors leave university, training programs or even internships with solid academic foundations but can feel uncertain once they’re in the room with real-life clients. You’re not alone if you’ve ever asked:
❓What do I actually do in an intake session?
❓How should I structure my notes or track a client case over time?
❓What tools are appropriate, ethical, within scope and effective to use with different clients?
❓How do I transform a client’s story into a meaningful counseling plan?
This course has been thoughtfully designed to support you in connecting great theory to effective practice.

Cands is a licensed counselor and yoga therapist that specializes in trauma and mental health. She has supported many individuals and group therapy programs focused on the recovery from psychological trauma, and the physical health challenges that appear to co-occur with post-traumatic stress. Cands has also just completed her Masters thesis within this focus area. She is all about keeping counseling super practical. While her training has given her a solid theoretical understanding, it’s her day to day life of a counselor and supervisor in private practice that’s taught her what actually works and is achievable for counselors and clients alike. She has personally designed and leads this course, with all of her favourite tools, techniques and insights to support counselors who have no idea where to start or are feeling overwhelmed by the theory and are unsure what to actually be doing. It’s a course to demystify, simplify and empower.
